MEM®
More Effective Meetings
If you’re one of those people who sits in meetings for half your working day, you’ll know what a time-waster meetings can be.
Particularly if a crystal clear outcome hasn’t been defined beforehand, the agenda hasn’t been agreed or adhered to, attendees don’t arrive on time or properly prepared, if nobody can reach a decision, or if the decisions that are made aren’t doggedly followed up and completed before the next meeting.
Finish your meetings with a sense of accomplishment
MEM® is another efficiency process which aims to ensure that multiple decisions are carried out at the agreed time and with the desired effect. And that there is valuable output from each and every meeting.
A shared understanding of the meeting group’s strengths and weaknesses is essential.
For the sake of the individual attendees and the entire business you need to run your meetings for the maximum payback on your investment of time and effort.
The right degree of preparation, process, decision–making, action, accountability and follow- through are essentials that value the people who invested their valuable time in your meetings.
Who should take part?
Management groups, any fixed meeting group and project or departmental team which meets regularly and on whom the business depends for decisions, action and execution.
Putting MEM® into practice
MEM is normally carried out over 2 days, with an interval of about 3 weeks between the first and second days. Then, 2-6 months later, just like PEP, 2 follow-up meetings are held during which we ensure that you have full possession and control of the techniques and tools.
Each MEM programme is adapted to your specific business in terms of content and duration.
Part 1
Structure (normally 1-2 whole days)
We start MEM by asking everyone to complete a questionnaire and a personality test. The initial assessments show you which areas need attention for the biggest payback.
During the sessions meeting groups assemble to formulate their own specific meeting protocols. They fully connect with, and own the process.
Your own contribution within the group
MEM sessions help people to improve their own input at meetings. You’ll better understand your own impact on the group and its effect on you. You’ll learn techniques to give constructive and specific feedback. You’ll also get a better understanding of the team’s dynamics and personal interactions – and the results they create. And how, as a group, you can influence these things for continuous improvement.
Part 2
Follow-up (normally 1-2 meetings)
After around 2-6 months we examine 2 more meetings with the team. We assess how well the adopted protocols are working.
Where needed, adjustments are made so that everyone is certain they have the tools to make sure that every future meeting is a rewarding activity - financially and personally.
We now have good work habits – especially when it comes to giving structure to the day and work on the desk. Spirits have risen a lot in the meantime – and earnings and sales too.
